Need to know what kind of dressing you feller's use make your running boards pretty. Any advice greatly appreciated.

If you want to keep it original looking, I suggest getting suede leather brushes from a shoe repair shop. Brush and rinse the surface to remove oxidation.

I use Meguire's natural shine. You get a natural rubber shine and not the greasy look.

Back in the middle 70's GF was helpin clean up the harley, and she used armorall on the saddle. When i twisted the wick both of us almost slid off. That stuff is slippery.

Works good
Lasts long time

Kelly I asked the same question a year ago. A Barner recommended stove polish. It comes in a small jar and is like cold cream. I washed the boards off real good and then used a old tooth brush to apply. It really turned out great and not a greasy shine like armoral. I'll get you the name of it. As long as the boards are dry it'll work great. I touched them up a couple times through the Summer but that's all. You can get it at a hardware store.

Kelly what is your email address and I'll send info and picture of the Stove Polish. I cannot get it to attach online here. Sorry !

Thx...Mike

Thannks for the post on using stove polish mike42. I bought some but have been a little hesitant to use it. Now I will.

"KIWI" shoe polish !!!! its awesome , the kind in the flat can , put it on thick let it dry & buff it off , just like you would your shoes or boots.Protects & shines without a buildup.

okie....wash off a small area with mild detergent and let it dry good. I used a soft brush when scrubbing. When it's dry just take an old tooth brush (or your Wife's) and rub it in. It takes a while to dry and sometimes rub off a little, but in the long run it keeps them looking good without a greasy shine look. I tried a couple other things and I didn't like the looks. Let me know

I lived in Altes when I was 1 year old. In the middle of nowhere in those days. My Dad was in flight training for the War. I don't remember much at all.

Thx...Mike

FourtyDlx....Ace Hardware is where I bought mine. I hear Kiwi does a good job too, but I went with the Stove Polish. You have to buff it also.

I also like the results from "Back To Black",google it it is made by Mothers products. I use it for the spring cleanup and it last all year.

Thanks to all, going with the stove polish first
