The rear bumper gravel pan was an option available after May 1, 1940. It fit all 1940 Ford passenger cars.
Regardless of body color, the pan was gloss black.
This is reproduced, the quality of which is okay.

I bought one from Bob Drake many years ago. The fit was very good.

I had a low mileage 40 standard with the rear pan on it. The original bill was in the glove box.................3 dollars installed.

I don't think Drake carries it anymore. Must be hard to find.

Thanks for all the input. Is there a seal that goes between the gravel pan and the body? Will be one of the finishing pieces left to put on.

on my 40 the gravel pan is against the bumper there is a gap between the pan & the body therfor no seal don,t know if it,s correct i have the car over 40 years
