40 pickup seat interchange ?

1940-41 as for drop in. The 42 thru 47 have diferent method of adjustment but I think you could make them work with some minor work. Tim

If you want to step/away from stock replacements, take your ruler and head out to the local pick and pull check out Dodge caravan seats, 3rd seat out of a chevy suburban 1992-1997, some mid 90s Nissan (?) vans. Then just upholster them in the stock material and pattern. I cut down a Dodge caravan seat and used the same foam in my avatar ..

I once used a 3rd row seat from an '88 suburban. The alterations needed for a secure hold were very simple and it pretty much looked the part. They tend to be very inexpensive and in good shape. Would never fly at Pebble Beach, but a great interim solution until the right one shows up.

I used the third seat from a Ford Windstar. Upholstery was excellent and it was $30 at Pick-N-Pull. Might be a little more now as this was 4 years ago.

Any pictures? How well did it fit?

Sorry, I don't have photos. The fit was fine, but the front edge of the seat almost touches the door. Seat is not tapered in at the front like a stock seat. A friend made me a metal platform that we hinged at the front of the original seat riser so you could flip the seat up and use the space under the seat for tools, jack, etc.

Nit for nothing but the stock seats in 40-47 p-ups is damn uncomfortable. The van and suburban seats are much better for long runs ….
