The regulator pictured is from my 40 ford 1/2 t. p/u my question is if the assembly was stipped of all gears/arms etc what's left is a dog legged bracket pointing UPWARDS, Drakes reg. for 38- 47 and everything else im finding the dogleg points down. what do i have here? i need a few more parts for my project & this opens a few questions as to ordering the proper parts thanks everyone

As I recall, think you need to turn yours over.
I'm pretty sure the arms hang down when it's installed in the door.

that looks like a mirror image of the one I just removed from the drivers side of my 41 pickup.
I would say that is a passenger side assembly, and when fitted, the dogleg will be pointing down, when towards the front of the vehicle. The arms are either up or down depending on whether the regulator is in the window raised or window lowered position.

Edit: yours appears to have a bolt and nut missing, it goes through a retaining strap from the other side, and the nut sits in the recessed area in the upper rail in the photo, where the hole is. It acts as a stop for the mechanism, and keeps the gears meshed.

Mart.
