'40 Horns Need Tuned Up

I'm looking for someone to repair/tune-up the horns from my '40. One does not work, and the other one sounds a little sick. I'd like to know if anyone has had a good experience with a vendor getting horns repaired. THANKS.

There is a guy called the horn doctor I think, somewhere up east. I'll see if I can come up with a name and number.

Jim,take the cover off and run some fine sand paper through the contacts. This may help. Russ

Jim, just to be sure, check the ground on the horns-the bracket that mounts to the frame should have a good, clean connection. Also make sure that the regulator is working with power coming off both horn connections, also making sure these are tight. I finally had to solder my horn to regulator connections on my 40

Thanks to all for the replys -
Lawson, If you could find the horn doctor info it would be much appreciated.

40ford, I did clean the contacts with fine sandpaper and had no change.

alanwoodieman, I do have a good ground. Power to the relay at both terminals, and the relay is working correctly. I can see what you mean by having to solder the connections. I did not mention that the car has been converted to 12V, but the 6V to 12V conversion gurus say this shouldn't make a difference except maybe in the tone.

I am running my 41 truck horn on 12 volts and just had to tune it a little, there is a screw to do so on the back-you must remove the bell cover to get to it. screw generally has some paint to sort of lock in place
