40 Ford Windshield Gap

I would suggest that you get a glass pattern from Drake or one of the V-8 Vendors to cut your glass. Very hard to estimate the gap as you have to factor in the thickness of the gasket plus leave room for the outer and inner center trim moldings. The pattern will automatically set your gap.

TJ is correct. Get you glass professionally cut by a vendor that knows old cars.
It will avoid problems and make you a happy camper. DO NOT USE SILICONE CAULKING TO SEAL YOUR GASKETS OR GLASS. I used this sealer 40 years ago. It has held up well over the years. I'm sure there is a newer sealer by now.
