40 Ford Sedan Delivery Door Handle Question

I already discovered that the rear latch for the 40 Ford Sedan Delivery is for the S/D only. It seems Ford had a different latch for every position and every application. I count at least 7.

Anyway, I ordered new exterior handles from Drake and the shaft on the ones I received are too short for my S/D latch. Does someone make a reproduction handle with a longer shaft? Do I have to cut and weld an extension onto the short shaft version?

What other oddities will I encounter on my Journey. I already figured out that the cargo door scuff plate isn't available. I will try to cut down a Tudor version for that.

I suspect repos may not exist. Maybe someone may have an NOS one. Check with "32 Phil" who is a member here. If no one has one your only option is the add material to the repo.
 
Cut and weld. I just did that for my '36.
Sedan delivery (only) parts are scarce as you are finding out.
By the way, if it matters, Drake's handles are not correct.
