Ive searched, found some stuff on how to fit complete scuff plates, but nothing on fitting new rubbers to existing plates. I assume as the sell them, its possible, but looking at mine, there seems to be a separate mild steel part in the stainless part with another mild steel part sandwiching the rubber.

How do these come apart? The seem to be stamped together or something? How is the sleet part held in the stainless part? Mines a bit rusty, and needs repairing. Im in the UK, so getting a replacement isn't so easy. Thanks

If you have authentic sill plates, they are one piece of formed stainless. Originally, the rubber was placed between two folds and subsequently "scrunched".
To replace the old rubber, you'll need to force (pry) that area open wide enough to get the old and hardened rubber completely out of there and then after inserting the new rubber, crimp the steel back together.

I have done this task only once and found the effort not worth the cost of new assemblies.
