40 ford ignition switch question

I have I think an original ignition switch body, the three contacts on the back are two sizes. The battery and the gauge terminals are small and the coil terminal is much larger. I have a repro that is the same and a repro from Vintique that has the large terminal on the battery connection? I can think of reasons for the large terminal
at the coil and no reason for the large terminal at the battery since the wiper piviets from that piont. Any thoughts on which is correct or were there two designs?
Thank in advance for your info.

1940 the three terminals all take the same special nut, so all three are the same size thread. If your talking about the size of the brass on the other side of the body, it is not important. What is important is that the wiper contact all three when the switch is in the "ON" position and is not in contact when the switch is "OFF".
The 40 wiper is vacuum operated not electrically.
