Is the drag link on a '40 ford straight? or does it have a bend to 'reach around something'?

I am fairly sure the tie-rod is straight.

thank you again, and again,

Slight curve to clear oil pan. I am most sure mine is this way. Coupe and convertible here in KY.

Both the tie rod and the drag link on my 40 look straight to me.

They are both straight. The original drag link has one fixed end and one adjustable end.

For 36-40 Ford the drag link is straight and fixed on both ends. A tie rod end screws into the female end of the drag link making the combination of the two adjustable, but in service one of the ends has to be removed from the vehicle to make adjustments. In the photos below the top drag link is 41 style with an adjustment sleeve between the drag link and the tie rod end, making it adjustable without removing. The 41 style is Fords replacement for the 36-40 style and it does have some slight bends.
