Here is an installation sheet for mounting the hood ornament on a '40 Deluxe.

the incorrect 01A 8215-B is cast out of brass. The new latch handle I obtained from CA is from China, and has no part number cast, as is my worn out handle so both are from china. It did not fit either, looks like the hole is slightly out of position for the pin. We have cobbled up my old one and it is working good now, having filled with quick metal and redrilling. I have come to the conclusion that I need a NOS handle to get straightened out. Thanks to all for all the help and advice.
