Hi fellows ; I am replacing rear rubber seals in my 1940 ford Delux Cp. I would like to know it the thick part of the rubber seal goes on the inside or out side?,the old seals where not as thick. Thanks

Thick part goes inside.
I'm curious as to brand of seal you are using.
My experience with Carpenter's product was sour, very poor fit & no support from their sales staff. No such problem with Drake's seals a very GOOD product.

I used the rear window seals from C and G and did it all myself and they really fit nice. Just use soapy water in a spray bottle.

Thick does inside.

Some folks may disagree but I used this sealant in the groove where the glass goes and also in the groove where seal fits the window sheet metal. Wipe excess off with gasolene or kerosene or any solvent that doesn't affect your paint.
I also used DRAKE'S rubber seal. That was in 1977 and it's still looking fine.
