'40 drag link

My '40 has a solid drag link. Does anyone know what Henry was using material wise for this part?

originally a forged solid bar, no way to replace the "socket end", some garages would saw off the end-thread and use a tie-rod replacement end

All of the 36-46 drag links are "solid" on one end only. The other has a tie rod end that is adjustable with a link or for the 36-40 the one end is removed from the steering arm and then adjusted in or out of the drag link. The 35 drag link is solid on both ends. The top drag link below is 41-46 style with the link and the bottom two are 36-40.

Thanks for the info! I'm trying to determine the material. Is it 1045, 4130 or whatever? Done any one know?
