in tuesday des moines register was an article and picture of the new (bob drakes) 40 coupe it was at the SEMA trade show in las vegas Ken Czubay a ford executive said they are lining up to order the car it said it was being offerd through fords aftermarket sales unit i did not know that ford was involved in this other than maybe licensing parts gene

I don't know for sure, but from carefully reading the press release I think that Ford maybe licensed the project and is cashing in on Dennis Carpenter's marketing of the body and parts. I would be interested in knowing of any other business interest Ford has in it.

Question..
Are the Brookville '32 bodies licensed by Ford? If not this, could get interesting in regards to the 40 Coupe project.

The way it was presented at SEMA it's not being sold by Ford themselves, merely licensed for the use of the Ford name.

If you look at Brookville's advertising language, or any of the other manufacturers of replica bodies for that matter, they don't use the Ford name...e.g. Brookville 32 roadster, NOT Brookville 32 Ford roadster. Others may get sloppy about the use of the Ford name, but not Brookville...........................they don't want to be sued for trademark infringement.
