40 Coupe rollover, are you covered?

A couple of points here; I always call Hagerty BEFORE the car is put on a transporter with a VIN. Too, if I'm shipping a car, I won't drop coverage until I get conformation that the new owner has received the car.

To another point; I have a collector car that I use as a daily driver and it was insured by Hagerty. I use the word "was" because I found out that if I was in a serious accident with that vehicle, my umbrella policy would not cover anything insured by another company. Tried several ways to get around the situation without any success. The premium is now a ball buster on that car as compared to Hagerty's rate!

I located a photo of the car. It indeed is sickening. I'm insured by Hagerty, they undoubtedly seem to be the best. I called on a saturday from Pennsylvania when I picked up my newly purchased 68C this summer. I was instantly covered, and felt the comfort of knowing that.

I too have Haggerty -- now -- after J.C. Taylor failed to pay off on a claim several years back, and after having had insurance with them for 20+ years. My advice to anyone with an antique car is to avoid J. C. Taylor at all costs! Great at taking premiums, terrible at paying claims.

I will disagree with everything you just said. I had a claim with them and was paid within 7 days. Everyone has a bad experience which stinks for you in your case, but 1 bad one doesn't mean to avoid them at all costs. Sorry.

Franchise 24,

Thanks for the message. I have J.C. Taylor and was wondering what to do....

While it stinks for what happened to Dick, I wouldn't let 1 bad experience sway anyone away. My parents have had them for 30+ years and myself for 7+ years now and am totally happy, and I've even had to file a claim. Maybe it pertains to Dicks claim. Maybe something didn't jive with it, I just don't know. Mine was stupidity. I was backing out of my barn and some how scrapped the drivers side front fender. Tore paint off, dented it and everything. Called JC Taylor and they told me to take it to where ever I trusted and get an estimate. Got the estimate and sent it in and literally within 7 days I had a check, car was fixed and you could never tell. Nothing but positives to say about JC Taylor. Maybe Dick could elaborate on what his situation was to better educate us.

Accusing J.C. Taylor of not paying a bonafide claim can be damaging to the confidence of those Fordbarners who depend on J.C. Taylor for coverage.

J.C. Taylor has an outstanding record for paying claims generously and quickly.

Dick Carne should give the details of his claim and why it was rejected.
