'40 coupe rear width

How wide is the '40 coupe from the rear fender lip to fender lip? I tried to search but found no answers.

I'm building one but don't have the fenders here and wondering how wide offset wheels I can have with my '48 rear end, which is little wider already.

I have original style 15 inch wheels and want to use them reversed in the back.

Thanks already!

Looks like about 69 inches +/- a little.
Kinda hard to measure.
I measured over the rear tire to the body...it's 11 1/2 inches to the outside.
The fender curls in maybe a half inch or so.

That measurement you are requesting could vary from car to car due to many reasons. Don't buy your wheels until after you install the fenders. Could be an expensive error, otherwise. FYI: The stock 40 rear end width from WMS to WMS is 59 1/2 in.

Thank you much for the info!

Seems that I'll be using stock '50-ties pick up 15'' x 5.5'' wheels with my '48 rear end (WMS to WMS 61 inches), with 8.2'' Firestones.
