40 coupe and sedan doors

No they do not interchange. Front doors from a 4-door sedan will fit a coupe, with some modification at the top rear of the 4-door door. The top rear of the coupe door drops off slightly while the 4- door unit does not. I have both style 40s but I have not yet done this modification. Perhaps someone else can give you more complete instructions on this modification. Tom
 
I should mention that the 2-door door is longer front to rear than the coupe or 2-door door. Tom
 
There is only one style coupe for 1940; as said above, the 4 door sedan front doors will interchange with slight, easy to do modification, I have done it several times. The 41-48 do have long and short door coupes, the short door will interchange with the 4 foor, the long door with the 2 door sedan, again with slight modifications.
 
37 and 38 had long and short door coupes.I think 37-39 short doors can be used on a 40 coupe but with no provision for a wing window.
