Looking for a Hurst or other brand floor shift conversion for the column shift transmission in my '46 Tudor. Something '50s vintage would be great, all will be considered. Thanks in advance.
Henry

Ken - Don't know if there are any in production but I kinda' doubt it. Hurst still makes them for 4 speed transmissions. Hoping someone has an old one stashed and is willing to part with it. The last one of these I installed was in a '55 Ford we converted from automatic to manual circa '62-'63 Thanks for the note. Henry

No problem, your post got me curious about them. ken ct. Brought back good memories with the 55 and was a rag top. All black with skirts real sharp, wish i kept it.

Hi Henry I have a hurst floor shift conversion for a 49-53 ford i bought it for my 40 for i have a 50 mercury trans in it and it sits in the same location as the 40 did i used the 40 linkages on the merc trans cant rember now why i did not use (senior moment) Thanks

Henry,
I am also a hoosier. I am in the process of updating my drive line in my 46 ford business coupe. It has a late 50's/early 60's Hurst 3spd shifter on the original 3 speed trans. It works great and is very precise. I am unsure on a price right now though as it is still in the car. If you are interested please PM me.
thanks
Matt

Hi Henry I have a hurst shifter in the box for 49-78 fords that will work i bought for my 40 ford with a 50 merc transmission and did not use it . The part # is 501-0002 the price is $125.00. Thanks

Hi Flint - I've located a Hurst unit which is currently working on a '46 transmission and, therefore, will work with mine.

Many thanks for the info and the offer. I guess my needs are met with a known-to-work unit. At least until I find the current solution does not work, I will decline your kind offer. Perhaps we'll have the opportunity to do business in the future.

Good luck with all your projects.

Best regards,
Henry
