Will the change from AA to A change the length of the drive shaft ?

Nope, that is why the bearing retainer and caps are unique to this application.

There was an option where Ford supplied a regular Model-A chassis with a AA 4-speed transmission in lieu of a 3-speed...there are plenty of these conversions still floating around to supply the demand.

I'm sure there might be, but when I was considering that a couple years ago, I could find plenty of AA 4-speed transmissions, but zilch on the rest of the parts needed for the conversion.

...the biggest value that is there is the AA bellhousing that folks like to use when converting to a S10 transmission...

It is also used in the F150 Overdrive transmission conversion.
