3x2 intake

I was lookin on eBay n found an early fenton 3x2 iffy intake that came off a 239. It has rebuilt holley 94 carbs on it. I was wondering if this set up will work on my 292 with a 57 dizzy? Thinking about picking it up just to have it. Found a link on the jalopy journal but I am still unclear wether it will work or not. The info was going the other way,( late 3x2 to the 239)

The 239 & 256 Y-blocks had smaller ports than the later y-blocks so you will have port mis-alignment issues.Will it bolt up? Yes. Is there enough meat to port match? That is the question.

I'll suggest simply placing the larger port intake gaskets against the intake manifold ports and see what the fitment looks like. There's always the potential that this was the later model Fenton intake that was used on the 239 engine at which point it will be a perfect fit on the later model heads.

Thanks for that Ted, problem is i am no where near this intake. I was just thinking it might be fun to have in case I wanted to change things up once in a while. Think ill pass on it for now. Still have a couple carbs being rebuilt by Sal for my E Code manifold. I better take care of the irons in the fire before I add anything new to the mix. I appreciate your input. Rowen
