I have a '39 and am looking at a windshield seal on ebay. The package says "Vintique" and the seller says it's a Dennis Carpenter. Is this a good choice or do I need to get a Bob Drake seal? Thanks in advance, Rod

If you mean closed car seal I would say buy the Bob Drake one. The windshield frame if closed car would be the same as my coupe, all of my ill fitting Carpenter junk seals went back and I bought Drakes. I did not know that Carpenter had Vintique seals always thought he made his own. I ordered everything rubber from Carpenter on my 37 because 25 years ago I did the same on a 53 F-100 and everything was good, not on the 37.

Hey 37 Coupe, thanks for the info. I had suspected that I wanted a Drake, just needed to confirm. Thanks again, Rod

My 38 Coupe has been parked in my driveway when not driven for 10 years and 5 months so far. I do keep a car cover on it.

No leaks so far.

When should I expect it to start leaking like a sieve ?

Also have Drakes door seals and trunk seal, no leaks.

Must be the good weather in San Jose, CA....:)

ANYTHING that is made by Vintique... your odds of it being even of decent quailty are slim to none.
Drake sells a good seal and if installed properly will not leak. They are not easy to install but with patience, it can be done. Removing ALL of the old seal is paramount to obtaining a good installation.
