39 Truck cowl patch

Need to replace both sides on my dump truck. Looks like several vendors have these and all look the same. Any particular vendor's product better than the others? Ease of installation? Anyone instal them here on the forum. Any troubles, fit good? Looks like they wrap around the door post, how about the front side? Is it flanged so I just crimp it and then weld along the top?

Thanks ML

if Northern Classic trucks is on the list of suppliers-by all means use them as I did for patch panels on several trucks, great fit, well stamped ,etc

I got mine from Northern Classic Truck they look to be made very well, they wrap around the door post and there is a flange to wrap around the firewall sheet metal, I think they should be spot welded to the firewall also;I would locate it using butt weld clamps and a couple cleco's drilled into the fire wall flange, you would then weld along the top (as you stated). My Cowl is opened up but I have to fabricate a new lower door post as no one seems to make it before I can finish up installing the Cowl panels. If any one knows if there is a lower door posts piller or Rocker Panels available for a 39 please let me know? I think a month ago are so someone said the rocker panels for a 40-47 would fit a 39?

Thanks for the tips on Northern Classic and the installation tips. My door post is decent, one side, the drivers is worse than the other side. This truck sat on a side hill for 40 years and the downhill side got real rusty. A new rocker and door post would be nice but I think mine are OK. 38-39 truck stuff is just becoming available in past couple of years.
Thanks again, ML
