'39 Standard to Deluxe ?

Hey guys - I was just curious to know if the front sheet metal & grill were easily interchangeable . That's all - just curious . Thanks to those that answered my question . To those that may have felt offended - I am sorry , that was not my intention .
Like many of you , I also like both models . - F F

A quick look at the front end of a 39 should answer your question. Just what part would you interchange, they are completely different.

FF, no apologies necessary...I don't think you offended anyone. Some of us just express more passion then others on these old Fords, including me. I became fond of these old Fords back in the late 50's, early 60's as a hotrodder, but I guess the older I get the more I appreciate these cars as they were originally built.

I have a '39 Standard Coupe. Love it.

Were the Standards Henry's way to use up all the parts from the previous year?

Were the Standards Henry's way to get folks to pay a bit more for the Deluxe?

Bart78, I sure hope that you get to save that one.

Dean, While Standards did utilize many of the previous years parts, there was no real profit in them, but they made excellent PR. Actually, some models came close to losing money on the sale, the '41 Special comes to mind as a break even model.

I say this from experience, Just enjoy and be happy with what you have. It is getting harder and harder to find original cars. Keep it as original as you can. In the long run that will be best for you and if you ever want to sell it. Otherwise it will be just a bastardization and will give you grief.
