Thanks again folks,
It's not a "complete restoration" just a faithful rejuvination I guess I 'd call it.
Every bolt/clamp/piece has been removed, stripped/blasted or whatever, but I'm not good enuf to call it a "restoration". The 8BA I put in it wouldn't help on that note either.
I just wanted to know if the metal "tube" needs protection and if an incased (encased?) cable would also fill the grommet hole.
I may just make a grommet for what I think is a NOS metal one I bought years ago.
Don't bother to measure, but I appreciate the offer. I've got the speedometer and ******/torque tube in the truck - just have to stretch the cable I have in place and see if I need a longer or shorter one.
This question came from me looking at photos to see where to put it!
Seems like 70" and change is normal, but I've seen 60" ones in the dream books.
As always, sure appreciate you guys sharing the knowledge.
H'mmmm - are there gals on here to? I may be getting in trouble....
