39 pickup electrical - what are these

Thanks again for all posts, info and drawings - once I studied them, I saw they were exactly what I needed.

I'm like the guy with 3 watches who doesn't know what time it is 'cause they're all different. I have boxes of parts that are ALMOST the same but different. Not just electrical, either. Three different cowl vent operators in three 39 pu's. Three different inside headlight bucket mounts on the three trucks. Instruments with ampmeter, and instruments with "bat cond". All three speedometers have different face patterns. I think Henry did this on purpose.

The trucks gonna be almost original, 'cept for the 8BA. I have a couple NOS lighting harnesses, just didn't have a dash harness, and didn't know if these "pieces" went in that.

I can make the harnesses or just rewire but probably will buy one as I'm tired of working on this truck!

Looks like C&G may have what I need. Pricy, but what isn't on these things?

I appreciate all the knowledge you guys patiently share!

The 40 wiring layout diagram I posted is a little hard to read so I drew out the section for the Resistor and the CB. Also, checked the 1939 Deluxe wiring diagram, it still shows a fuse in place of the CB. So, 1940 must be the first year for CBs.

Great sketch- thanks for taken all the trouble. May not get to wiring for a few months, but will let you know how it goes.

Truck is looking great Malpais!

Here is that relay/braker that was on my 38. It was an addition to the system, probably when they added sealed beams. Has high/low and horn connections. Also a fuse.

Thanks for photos and diagrams all, specially Jseery and Tinker. I'm still wondering about regulators on 39 PU's since C&G sells harnesses listing them. I thought mine had original installation of a regulator, but looking at some old photos I took, I see the regulator has Phillips screws. Not the way Henry did it. So wondering if C&G harnesses will work with after market regulators....Duh. If it were easy everyone would do it. I will figure it out!

Sorry to bother folks so much.

Not real good on what year was what, but from the wiring diagrams looks like the 39 standard used a cutout (2-brush gen) and the deluxe used a regulator (3-brush gen). 1940 used a regular. No idea what the pickups and trucks used but would assume they mirrored the 39 standard setup, so a cutout. I would also assume that a common upgrade in the day would have been to the 3-brush gen and a regulator.
