a ongMost likely your mechanism needs to be lubed. Do you know the last time it was done?
thank youSometimes the arms tend to catch through the slots.
You can feel them under the dash.
Also some WD40 or similar may help lubricate the crank mechanism - again probably need to do it from under the dash.

If your going to lubricate anything do not use WD-40 it is not a true lubricant. It is Water Displacement product. Lots of much better true lubricants to use.
I was going to say -- "Look, up in the sky. Its a bird. Its a plane." But Superman didnt start until 1952.
thank youWith this in mind I would disconnect windshield from mechanism and see where it is sticking. If it is the mechanism it should be removed for inspection and lube. Over time the gear gets worn and may need to be replaced. In meantime use a helper to push windshield from outside when closing.
thanks access is difficultMy '35 had a similar issue......a bit of white lithium grease solved it.......now cranks in/out with ease.
You can get spray lithium with the plastic tube to get into difficult places. You symptoms sound more like worn gears. Gears are pot metal and they do wear.thanks access is difficult
