39 ford transmission

sounds like the clutch is not fully disengaged may need just a simple clutch adjustment ,need more free play

Just wanted to make sure you are not talking about down shifting from second to first. The second to first gears were not synchronized. Other than that, see post #2.

Thanks for letting me listen in. My 39 grinds when upshifting to both second and third. The clutch adjustment suggestion makes sense. Thanks again and good luck.
 
the syncro's in these transmissions are not the greatest. on up shifts go slower thru the gates, downshift at lower speeds. also proper heavy lubricant helps
