Hey guys, I have recently noticed a ticking noise from my pickup. I thought it might have been low trans oil so I checked it (it was low) filled it up. Thought that was going to be the problem however took it out tonight and once it wrmed up I started to hear it again. Seems worse if I have the clutch pushed in. Any insight would be great. Thank you

Is it speed sensitive? Rpm sensitive? It is coming from under the car? Does it happen when car is moving, turning, braking, shifting, etc? Is it loud, faint, can you feel an associated vibration?

Since the transmission was low on fluid, it's a good bet
that the universal joint may be dry. Try shooting a good
amount of grease into the zerks for the universal joint. I use
John Deere corn head grease.

Throwout bearing maybe? If your truck is a quiet running vehicle sometime the fuel pump sounds loud, more so when you are looking for the sound.

If it only happens with the clutch in I'd look into that also.

get a faint tic/toc at 86; a sweet rush at 113 and an ahhhhh at 146 (Maple Street.)

I had a loose Uni bolt that caused lots of noises on my '39 peekup
