This is out of an older restoration. It is soft & supple, rode like a dream. I wanted my car a little lower, bought a reverse eye whiz-bang teflon button spring. Sat no lower!! Rode exactly the same. My loss your gain. $50.00 plus shipping.

Still looking for a beat up 32 Ford closed car dash.

If the reverse eye didn't sit any lower than the 'real' spring you removed, then the 'real' spring is sagging :)

Thanks for the encouraging opionion! I'll keep an eye out for your ads and see what kind of uninformed remark I can think up! By the way, this car sat exactly the same height as both my other 39 Fords. It's just that the new spring didn't really lower it as I had expected. If this was some old rusted together spring that sat around under an engineless car in a field somewhere for 30 years the new spring probably would make a difference. I am sure it's every bit as nice as the other spring you are looking at. The car had 93,000 original miles, was a hobby collector car since '64. Again Kube, thanks for all the help!

Kube's opinion is hardly uninformed. If you knew the man you would know he would keep his mouth shut before giving an uninformed opinion. How do you explain why your reverse eye spring didn't lower your car? My original spring was sagging after only 50,000 miles and he spotted it from 40 feet away.

These aftermarket springs are a pretty inexact science. I bought another one for my fenderless small block powered '32 5-window - just the opposite: sat real low, bottomed out on most big bumps, plain dangerous! I had a leaf added, made all the difference in the world! I've put 35,000 miles on this car since, much better control, actually rides nicer. Our buddies in China don't have the slightest idea what these things are that they are making - good, bad, or indifferent, we keep buying this stuff. Spring shops are a thing of the past. In the old days we would have our springs reworked, reverse the eyes, retemper them - add or remove leaves till we got it just right. The shop that added the leaf to my 32 spring doesn't do that anymore - they just sell new springs. We have become a 1-800 society!!

I'm sure Kube knows alot about old Fords - so do a lot of people. Most are smart enough not to state an opinion about something like this spring unless they saw the old one in the car and the new one that replaced it!
