39 door window help?

Hey, I'm putting the door windows in my 39 Coupe today. New glass, all new felts, ect. Original regulators but they have been cleaned/ lubed and appear to be in good condition. Can't seem to get them to work smooth. When I roll it up the glass sits too far forward (1/4" or so, edge of glass shows on back side). When it goes down it wants to go straight down instead of back (vent) first. Binds bad when it hit the kick in the back channel. If I hold the glass back that 1/4 inch when I roll it up it slides back then down as normal but still binds at the kick. Seeing as how Henry didn't give provisions to adjust the channels, what is the trick?
I also have a pin/ roller or something in the center of the glass channel. It doesn't seem to fit to anything and there does seem to be holes and slots in the door frame for something. Never had a 39 before, perhaps I'm missing a center guide or something?

That pin in the center of the glass channel is the mechanism that operates the vent action. It catches in a slot in the regulator and guides the glass. It faces the interior of the car when installed.

Watch the action as you roll it up and you will see where it is supposed to enter the slot. I've only been in mine once so I can't recall every detail. Check to see that you have the channels on the corrects sides.

Thanks for the help. I hadn't looked at the regulars that close, didn't start messing with these till after my body guy had the regulators installed. He had taken the pins out to get the glass in. Gee, funny how much better they work with the pin back in place!
