38 suspension

Recently I had to move a front and rear suspension from an XJ-6 Jaguar, and a 38 sedan that had no suspension. I got the idea to tack weld the Jag suspension in place, which would accomplish both purposes. Lo and behold, the 'stance' is absolutely perfect. Since this car will be cosmetically restored using a modern drive train, I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this. I did correspond a few years back with a gentleman in South Africa who said he used that suspension on his car, BUT that he had to reverse the wheels to get them to line up correctly in the fender openings. However, this does not appear to be an issue with what I have done. Any thoughts? Thanks.

No help here but you do need to empty your email in box. LOL I can't send you anything. Sorry I missed you when I was in Austin in March. Lawson

I put Jag sedan suspension (front) under my wives 50 (other company that starts with a Che******) Ute and she loves it! Our friends just put one under a 40 Ford pickup. The only problem you might run into is the tract width, the stock Jag has that problem and they use wheels offset to the inside. And don't use the stock Jag shocks as they are too tall, I took measuerements to my NAPA guy (who didn't ask if it had air conditioning) and got me the right set for like $30.00. Any questions shoot me a PM

Thanks for the info. As I said a person in South Africa said the only way this set-up would work was if the wheels were reversed. I did not do that but they seem to 'fit' in there perfectly. As I said I just tack welded them to move the car, but I think when I go to attach the suspension permanently, it will work fine. I used to be a purist, but if the car looks 100% stock from the inside and out, but drives like a Jag, I just can't see the downside, and it does not seem to adversely affect its value. Thanks again for the tip.
