Getting my shopping list together for the Ford Nationals at Carlisle this week.
On the '38 Pick up...
It gets lacing both on the cowl and the radiator shell, right?
Is the same lacing used on both locations? Does the lacing on the cowl run all the way down to the fender to protect the removeable hood sides?
What is the proper size and material? All the similar era cars and trucks I saw at the Gettysburg AACA Spring meet were a tan fabric with a depressed area down the centerline for the attaching screws. Some vendors sell a rubber product.
Restoration Specialities has what looks like what I saw at Gettsyburg, but they have it in several sizes. They call it "channel hood lace" and 3/16" thick and in widths 1/2" 5/8". 3/4", 7/8"and 1". and a very large 1 1/4" wide by 5/16" thick
What about the top of the side hood pieces? Rubber bumpers, or more hood lace?
I wish I had taken this apart---or my friend took pictures.......
