Hey can anyone help me ? I am trying to sell a 38 ford humpback deck lid for my mom, but not sure what all years it fits , not sure where to try and sell it and not sure even whats its worth. Here is the story her husband died a few years back and she sold his 38 street rod, she didn't know he had this spare lid in the shop attic and when she found it there was a reciept taped to it that says 700.00 weather that is correct or not we will never know, it is the lid only no locks hinges or hardware, as far as condition it is primered. Appears to have been sandblasted no dents but shows some pitting around the edges probably where the seal goes i imagine. So can someone help with these questions...thanks john

Would this have perhaps been a humpback "phaeton" or convertible sedan. That would maybe explain the high price. Iam thinking that ford had no humpback closed cars in 1938. They were all smooth backs. You should check this to value it correctly.

38 std sedan was a humpback and yes 150-250 sounds more like it as they are not the most popular unless it is to fit a 38 coupe then 700 would be more like it , will also fit 37 ,for whatever model it is,

Looks to be from a '37 because of the holes for the exterior hinges and the single hole for the trunk handle.
Not sure if it's off a '37 humpback ( relatively common ) or a '37 Phaeton ( very rare )

John, if we can determine it will fit a 37 pheaton, I need it. Pat OBrien (928) 925-1932
Can you measure side to side, and top to bottom.

John--- Just seen your old post about 38 trunk lid. It looks like 37 humpback to me.
Do you still have it? How much?
