Can anyone tell me what the switch that is located left of the column and on the bottom of the dash does??It's mounted to the lip on the bottom of the dash. Also I have no headlights, tail lights or brake lights. I think it might be a problem in the switch which is located in the center of the steering wheel. How does this come apart??

It has a light switch body on the end of the steering column, with a bail. Slide the bail over and remove the light switch housing. Then there should be a "spider" with a clip and a spring at the bottom of the column. Remove this assembly and the light switch/horn rod will pull out of the steering column. This is how it is on my 1931 model A and 1939 pickup.

The switch to the left of the column you speak of is probably the dimmer switch unless someone has added something else.

It has a dimmer switch on the floor. Thanks for the other info though. It will help a lot. I've seen this switch on other 38's I seen on you tube. Maybe someone with a 38 will chime in.

On the standard there is a toggle switch that turns the instrument lights on/off.

Well, the next stop is the lighting control at the base of the column/steering box. Can you still read the wiring color coding?
