38 Ford Standard Dimensions???

I am locating the 38 standard radiator mounts on my 39 frame, and the 38 mounts seem to be shorter than the 39's moving the radiator closer to the engine. Can someone provide me with dimensions of their radiator mounts or radiator back to the firewall? If there is a better way of locating the radiator position please let me know... I know there will be some trial and error, but I need a good reference point to start from.

Thanks,
Ronnie

1939 was the cross over year for the crankshaft mounted fan. Are you working with a 1939 standard or deluxe frame? The 39 standard is more similar to the 38 deluxe so there are bound to be some small differences even there.

On my 39 Standard, there are 2 holes, on the frame, for radiator mounts. Right or wrong I used the rear one. Using the rear hole there is 8" between the radiator mount & the motor mount.

It is a 39 Deluxe frame and 38 Standard sheet metal. I am moving the fan from the crank up to the generator.

Radiator Support Rod Bracket to Firewall Support Rod Brack = 29"

I have the radiator mocked up with the front fenders. I installed the hood, and it there is interference with the radiator now. From the top of the frame rails to the top of the radiator is 26". Is this correct?

No. 30" as measured to a point on the 38 frame rail directly below the level as positioned behind the filler neck. The 38 radiator itself is 28" high as measured from its bottom bracket to the level at the same position. It seems the 38 frame might bend down lower than the 39 frame.

The grill does NOT mount to the radiator. However, there are a few keyhole slots near the top of the radiator that probably could have been used for other models/years. In your images above, it appears that someone must've used these slots to attach those 2 metal coupons or brackets on both sides of your radiator. \
