This is the fuel pump stand from my 37 V8. One of the threads is stripped and will not hold a bolt. can this be saved with a spring coil from Ace Hdwe, or is there a better way?

Thanks!

You could try a t-sert but the stand seems a little soft. Do you think you could JB weld or epoxy 2 studs? Worst scenario but maybe the best fix is to replace it.

Dick I had the same prob with my 40. What I did because I could not find a good used one is take a piece of weed whacker line and cut off a short bit and stick it in the hole before threading a bolt in. It's been in there for almost 3 years now. Held very tight.

My other idea was to take a Nylock Bolt which has a piece of nylon thread already in the thread. I just could not find one up here in northern michigan.

Dick,
My repair on these jewels is to drill the 5/16-18 holes all the way thru and
then tap the thru hole to 5/16-18. I then install studs and lock tite them in place. Ob-
viously you now attach the f/p to the stand using the the studs and nuts vs using
cap screws.

I drill and tap to install a Lock-tited 3/8X24 plug and then re-drill and tap for the original 5/16".
