Hello to the forum, iam busy restoring a 1937 Ford DeLuxe in South Africa i have recently aquired. Unfortunately Iam missing the dash headlight switch unit and knob, as well as the cigar lighter unit with knob for the car. No period correct headlight switch unit is manufactured or available anywhere. Is there anybody out there who might have a picture (j-pg) of one or both units? or maybe even FOR SALE? Maybe i could also do with a headlight switch or lighter from another model or year. I have attached a j-peg of my dashboard, to make sure its the right parts iam looking for. The right hand side hole is slightly cut out to both sides, looks a bit awkward, but i supose that is the correct place for the headlight switch. The hole to the left, covered with the blank must be for the cigar lighter.

Your correct hole on right is HSH. the switch has wing like projections that snap in to the side slots in the dash hole.Do not buy a switch with out these wings on it.35-38 is the same switch the knob can be changed to 37 they are availible. The switches are hard to find and bring good $$ and same for the liter. They are NOT pop out types. Good luck in finding them. ken ct. usa.

If your car started as a left hand drive American manufactured car the headlight switch is located at the bottom of the steering shaft and controled by turning the ring outside of the horn button (first photo). The hole on the lower left is for instrument panel light control and the one on the lower right is for a cigar lighter (second photo).

Ken,

What does HSH mean? If it is not appropriate to post, PM me.

Right hand drive models use different components to a certain degree. I assume it's a RHD vehicle anyway.

HSH=headlite switch hole. I assume its a rhd vehicle as the LS is on the right. On usa its on the left. This switch only turns on and off the dash lites. Has nothing to do with the head lites. ken ct. Not sure if you knew that.

Thank you very much for the information, yes the car is a right hand drive. I suppose the correct term would be "instrument panel light control switch". As mentioned it must be a "switch" or could it be a "dimmer"? I suppose e-bay is the place.
