Hey guys, I just purchased a 37 fodor with the 80 horse engine. Don't know to much about these cars, outside of mechanical brakes and such. Are there many of these around. Hoping to get it home and go through it. It was driven every year up till about four years ago. Then just started and run for the last four. Thanks for any info. Jon

Start by buying the 1937 Ford book put out by the Early Ford V8 Club (earlyfordv8.org). Join a local chapter of the Early Ford V8 Club. Go to earlyfordv8.org for club contacts for local chapters. Where in general are you located? Your request for info needs to be a little more specific.

100 miles south of chicago. Thanks for the book tip, was just wondering in general how nice the cars drove, any brake problems to watch for, how hard it is to work on the engines. Jon

It has mechanical brakes as you are probably aware. Mechanicals are just as good as hydraulics but do require a little more tlc to keep them in proper adjustment. The 60 HP engines are neat in my opinion. I wish I had one for display if nothing else.

Thanks for the comments, when I get it back home, I'll be back, I'm sure with more questions. Will the modern gas work okay in this engine, or does it need lead additive? Jon
