'37 flathead--- no spark

Hi fellas,
I need your help. I rebuilt a '37 flathead, but do not have spark at the plugs. I have 6.35 volts at the points, when the points close I still hav 6 volts. I have new wires on it, points and condenser, inner caps, and rotor.
The ciol is older, and it tests out at 1.5 ohms from pole to pole.
Would it be a bad coil ??
Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like your points are dirty or not closing. The 6 volts with the points closed indicates there is no coil load. The voltage should be in the 4.0 range with the points closed. G.M

Looked over the points, and they were not closing all the way.
Reset the points, hooked up the fuel line, and tried it.
The thing took off right away, with little cranking.
Runs really smooth, but need to do some carb adjustment.

THANKS for the advice fellas,

Wingnut

Stock config has a resister inline with the ignition switch. Volts at coil should be 3-4volts. More will fry coil and points faster.

Thanks so much. I do have a resistor inline with the switch.
Tested it and have 4 volts at the points.

Again, THANKS to all the Fordbarners for their help.
Much Appreciated
