37 firewall battery box

Can anyone tell me why some 37's have cutout in the firewall for the battery and some don't.

Because someone has filled in the battery cavity or replaced firewall. This was the first year that battery was placed under hood area and on the firewall. I don't believe early ones had a different setup atleast this is not discussed in 37 book. It was also the first year for an accessory locking hood ornament like the one on my coupe avatar, a new one for Ford owners,battery thieves.

Here is why on my 37 the box was rusted and corroded away, I just removed it.
