37 cowl vent diagram

I have, in my 37 flatback sedan, what appears to be a combination of 36 and 37 cowl vent parts. If some one has a diagram of the 37 cowl vent assy, I'd appreciate a copy. I've searched the web extensively and haven't found any adjusting level like the one I have.
The bracket and hand lever appear to be 36 and the cowl vent is definitely 37, but the adjusting arm is different, having a notch at one end with the adjusting slot and a small hole at the other end.
It's similar to a 36 but straighter and longer.
I think "Henry" had some parts left over from 36 and incorporated them in the 37's.
I didn't take this apart, so I don't know how it goes back together and I'm wondering if parts are missing.
Any help would be appreciated...........Thanks Socalsmith

It's not hard to post a photo here and would help to understand what you have. The 37 restoration book shows two different mechanisms for the vent. In addition the 38 Hardware book shows the roller, two springs and two washers. Early is the round handle like 36 but there is a difference in the handle. The later style is a flat plate handle like later fords. Sounds like you have the early style. For the ratchet lever the notch fits on the firewall side and the round hole is for the spring to the body above (look for a tab hanging down with a corresponding hole). the slot fits over the threaded stud along with a roller. there are a couple of washers one brass and the second steel holding the lever and roller to the stud a spring and a slotted hex nut and cotter pin. Much like 35-6 I have a photo of 35 below, showing the lever on the stud with the roller .

Thanks Terry;
Your photo gave me a good idea on how the brackets go together. I don't have the spring or the roller, but do have the washers etc.

I'm trying for a second time to include a pic. of the lever I have. You can see that it is similar to the 35-36 although straighter and has a notch at the firewall attachment end. The question I have, has to do with attachment to the firewall. There must have been a bracket on the firewall that the notch went into. I have nothing on the firewall, so what ever was there must have been removed. I'd like to know what the lever attachment looked like so I can build another one.

Thanks again Socalsmith

That is the early ratchet lever for 37. I do not know what the firewall bracket looks like. It may be possible your car should have the later style. Check your serial number the change took place after April 37. The later style mech. is held in place by two bolts or studs (see the restoration book). The later Mech. would not need the early firewall bracket.
