'37-'40 rear axle sprin hanger issues

Hello, after reading old post about struggling with spring installing, took a look to my rebuild rear axle and other loose bells.

All measured four spring hangers are bent likewise in the picture, the picture shows the worst. I think this has to be re-aligned with heating it up.

Just wondering that this must be very common Ford-trouble?

I don't think that's common at all. Looks like someone heated and bent the spring hanger to install a different size spring. If you do decide to heat it up and bend it back make sure the metal is hot enough. I think cherry red is correct. Then let it air cool. Here's an article that may provide some rebending tips. Be careful not to overheat your rear bearings and grease seals.
Here's a stock 40 rear hangar.

I found better bell and I'm going to use it, glad that it was on the passenger side so it is easier to replace, won't affect to pinion preload (affects of course to carrier bearing preload, must be checked).

This bent spring hanger has 68-4045 number on it. According to this thread:

https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=166017&highlight=4045

it is very late 36, when the model of the bell changed.

But these sure are different looking!
