Is there a trick to removing and replacing the "C" clip from the bottom of the horn rod. The last time I did it it took forever. Any advice appreciated. Thanks Jack

It’s been a while but…

Person #1 holds down on the horn button/rod, 3616. [EDIT: Insert bungee for person #1.)

Person #2, using needle nose pliers, slightly open, depress on U shaped piece, 3643, which collapses spring 3642, when able, slide in the clip, 3644. [EDIT: Slide in for install, slide out for removal.]

Hope this helps.

That will NOT tighten down a steering wheel. It will help with a loose horn button,

Hi Lawson, I believe it will enable removal of the horn rod, horn button attached. Possibly for more service work.

Maybe the OP needed an editor to help with his thread title. I'm not sure.

It seemed like his question was clear enough. "Is there a trick to removing and replacing the "C" clip from the bottom of the horn rod. The last time I did it it took forever. Any advice appreciated. Thanks Jack "

Sometimes we all need a good editor.

You can remove/replace that c-clip by yourself. The parts vendors (Model A anyway same setup) sell an inexpensive tool to depress the spring and pop that clip on and off pretty simple and a 30 second job.

Take a wooden yard stick, run it across the horn button and under the steering wheel, to hold the button and rod down.
