36 pickup floor mat

Have been looking for an original type rubber floor mat for my 36 pickup. Looks like they are not being made by anyone anymore. There are some 38 and newer ones with no holes in them. Can they be fitted to my pickup, If so how good will it fit and look? Thanks Ron

pick ups kept getting bigger/wider, you may have to cut down the width of a 38/39 to fit your 36

You are correct, they are not being made. You are going to have to improvise like I did. Make your own.

If you "extend" your transmission cover back to the edge of the seat by shaping a piece of wood to do that, then you essentially have a flat floor board, and can make a nice looking floor mat out of a flat piece of rubber you can pick up at Tractor Supply.

Buy an el cheepo indoor/outdoor carpet to cut a pattern from then trace it over to the mat. works out nice by eliminating the hump. My2% of a dollar. LOL

I got my mat for my 1939 PU from Carpenters for about $100. I purchased some rubber mat runner material from Lowes for about $15. and made a pattern for the cut outs for the pedals. When completed it looks authentic.

We did as Lawson did, made our own. Tried to buy one from Obsolete Ford Parts a couple years ago and they don't carry them anymore.

Took out the remnants of the original which was all in pieces like a jigsaw puzzle, put them together on the garage floor and made a template, took a piece of flat rubber from Tractor Supply and we made a floor mat. Turned out pretty good I have to admit! Nobody seems to know the difference!

Any chance we could see a picture of this interesting proposal?

I made my floor mat up about a year ago and the heat from the engine has allowed the rubber mat to take its proper shape around the transmission hump.
