Hi guys I have a 36 roadster and I am swapping out the stock manifold for an aluminum one. What size are the stock bolts.. I cannot remember 🙄.. also I have 8 holes that require longer bolts than stock. Does anyone have a good bolt site that has grade 5 etc that I could take a look at? Here is a pic of the above mentioned bolt hole. Thanks guys much appreciated

The stock manifold was aluminum.

3/8 - 16. Not certain of the lengths required but that should be rather easy to figure out.
Why do you feel you need grade 5 bolts?

Check McMaster - Carr www.mcmaster.com for anything you can think of. Great place to deal with.
As you apparently are going with a polished intake, how about stainless-steel bolts? McMaster has those as well.

Yes, MacMaster-Carr is a great source, as well as Fastenal for any type of fastener. Look at socket head cap screws, which are commonly used on motorcycles, in counter-bored holes in tight clearance areas. You may need machine washers to avoid surface damage.

Great thanks Kube. I know the area is a low stress area I guess Grade 5 isn’t necessary. Stainless steel is a good idea . Thanks for all the info

Thanks 19fordy for the reply. Washers will definitely be used on the aluminum intake and I get your point about the size and bolt recesses . Thanks

I'd just go to the hardware store and pick-up the bolts you needed; no sense in ordering the minimum quantities at an online store.

I'd also buy stainless bolts and spend a little time sanding them down and buffing them out. It will make your polished intake look even better.

The AN washers may be a little harder to find in town and may need to be ordered.
