36 Fordor Deluxe Value

Stretch Cab

I know it is difficult to give a good price but help me out if you can.

I have had the car for more than 50 years and it has been apart for about that long. The car is 100% complete and in very good condition.

The car is in Thomasville, NC.

"4 doorTown Sedan" - Trunk Back?

"4 Door Sedan" - Slant Back?

Gonna be a very tough sale being ALL apart, depending on the purchaser, the engine pictured (as you may know) is NOT 1936 original. SO many variables and factors from both sides, sell & buyer both?

Sadly, not much value there. Me? I'd probably start by getting ALL of the parts together and at the very minimum, take good photos of all that is there.
Better yet, make a clear and concise list and take photos.
Gosh, I'm thinking $3500, maybe.

Funny thing Mike...I was thinking in my head before you posted and vacillated several times about posting "Just from what you posted and "MY" personal feeling...$3500 max (or for me something less to "peak" my interest) in even going to look.

This is going to be a tough sell. The group of guys the have the money for something like this and are still young enough to have the energy to tackle it are all interested in something else. Those that still have the interest are in the age group that wouldn't take it on. Me? It intrigues me, but when I get back to real life, you couldn't give it to me. I already have too much "valuable stuff" to get rid of.

$3500 today was worth about $500 in 1970. Would you have paid $500 for a Fordor parts car back then? Not me, when there were still "roller" 3-windows around for $100.

I think the $3500 for it is a good call. I think if the fenders, hood and grille are excellent they may be worth as much as the entire car. Probably parting it out might bring more money.

I agree that parting it out may bring the most remuneration. It's a lot of work and fooling around, though.

I agree 3500.00 would be a good target, less for quick sale. To maximize your chances of $ consider bolting everything together (so a buyer can visualize that everything is there), put a couple of junk springs in it to lower it, and try to sell it at a "hopper" car show. Many people have stated to me that the culture anchored south of the border puts a premium on 4-doors.

"I'm gonna restore it"...the death sentence for many old cars. Parting it out would be a crazy amount of BS dealing with people and shipping, take the best offer you get and be done

And the way things are going these days, it's gonna be worth less as time slips by, not more.

Thanks everyone for the help. I think you are right with all your comments. I need to move it so I will try to lowball it. It really is a solid nice car but I understand the logistics of getting it back on the road.

I think that's a good idea also. In particular, i'd use your "lowball" phrase in the ad so buyers will know and identify with the bargain.
