36 ford steering box

[36 flathead]

Has anyone tried replacing steering worm gear on a 36 box. Looks like they are pressed on very tight. Has anyone tried the mac's replacement.

I have pressed '35 to '39 worm gears off and and new/good used gears back on the steering shafts. It's pretty simple to press the worm gear off but pressing a gear back on can be a little tricky and you most take some special precautions to prevent bending the shaft. I also used some low heat (400 to 600* F) on the worm and chilled the shaft in a freezer to reduce the initial press fit. I can't help you with your question on MAC's parts. Good luck!

I have had good results with there worms and sectors i find you have to change both to match the fit.
