I have a pr of alum. heads on a LB 36. Ford script w/ 48-6050 + 48-6049 also has a "HT" embossed on them. What does the HT stand for ?? high temp?? ken ct. have put this up here 4 times but cant find hide nor hair of it on here?.

Ken,

On page 100 of the 35-36 Ford Book published by the Early Ford V-8 Club, two illustrations show heads with the Ford script and HT beside it. These are both the "A-2" heads. No explanation of the HT is shown. Maybe Don Rogers will chime in with something.

Hi Don,thanks for the info. Why did ford HT some and not all of them. Were these something special?? ken ct. Curious mind wants to know.

Ken, I haven't found specific information at the Ford Archives as to why some heads had HT and others didn't. It may have been specific to a vendor. I know that Bohn Aluminum company first introduced the 40-6049/50-A2 style head and it had the HT designation. I also know that Bohn designed the 48-6049/50 heads and they too had the HT designation. I haven't researched the other suppliers to see what they did. Maybe I will during a future visit to the Archives.
