36 Ford Frame

I measured my 36 5W Coupe round stock replacement muffler and it is 17" long on straight side. Front of straight side is within about 2" of front cross brace. Rear has some room between the end and the connection of the x-braces. If your muffler is 24" on straight side it may be difficult to fit in this space.

Hi Gary, thanks for the reply very helpful, I am looking for a mellowtone muffler with not too much bark to it, right now i am running straight pipes for me it's much too loud and annoying on long trips I hope to find the right mufflers. Thanks

I have heard many here on FB say they really like the Brockman(sp?) mellotone mufflers. I believe they will make them in most any length you need. You may have to bend the inlet/outlet pipes on a slight angle to make them fit.

Hello Everyone, The above comment is from a strictly straight pipe guy and I love the sound of his car which I see and ride in 6-8 times a year. I'll take some pics of the undercarriage of our '36 tomorrow.

From the looks of these photos, I agree with Gary Tosel (post #2), I don't think you can fit a 24" long muffler in there.
