36 Ford Coupe Seat

I have, for sale, a complete seat assembly for a 36 Ford 5 window coupe. It consists of the metal seat pan and wooden back and sides, the two risers/adjustment mechanisms, seat cushion, and hinged seat back. They have been re-upholstered 30-40 years ago and are in much need of being re-upholstered again, as the fabric is both torn and stained. The wood is all original, I believe, and in good condition with the exception of the plywood sides which are showing some delamination at the edges.

One seat riser is pristine, the other has some rust/metal erosion along the floor mounting flange, but is still serviceable The seat pan is slightly bowed down at the center and the seat cushion has taken this same shape with a slight bow visible in the bottom of the wooden frame.

Hinges for the seat back have been replaced and are not OEM, but rather hardware store variety. Missing parts, as best I can determine, are the wooden "close out" panel that goes at the rear of the seat pan and has the cutout for the drive shaft tunnel and the "stay rod", for lack of a better word, that apparently supported the seat back in an elevated position for access to the area behind the seat.

The seat is from a 36 coupe I purchased for conversion into a retro rod and I will be replacing the OEM seat with buckets and a console and have no need for it. Pictures can be provided upon request....specify general areas of interest and provide email address.

Due to the size/weight of the item, local pickup would seem to be the only thing practical. The seat is in Huntsville, AL. I've no idea of the value of this item and will entertain offers. I don't plan to give it away, but I'm not trying to get rich off it either.

Would you be willing to sell the rails and adjuster mechanism separately? I'm restoring a '36 3 window to factory and have a nice seat for it without the adjusters and rails. I would be willing to buy the whole seat but I'm in California so it would only make sense to ship the adjuster and rails. Of course I would pay shipping, and I would be willing to pay extra for your time to disassemble anything, pack and materials costs.

Thanks,

Bill
